The Cayman Islands Philatelic Bureau, in conjunction with the Cayman Islands Department of Agriculture and the Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure is proud to issue a commemorative set of stamps celebrating the “50th Anniversary of Agriculture” – over 50 years of an established Department of Agriculture and the 50th Anniversary of the Annual Agricultural Show.  The release date was 29th March, 2017.

The Souvenir Sheet depicts three local prominent farmers in the Cayman Islands, who were known for their hard work and dedication to the agriculture industry. At the 2016 Heroes Day Celebrations Messrs. John Bothwell, Mercherito “Merch” Chantilope and Kent “Biggie” Rankin were honored as Pioneers of Agriculture in recognition of their contributions.
