Joanne Sibley was born in Canada. Her interest in art was encouraged from an early age by her father, a portrait and landscape painter. After graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Interior Design in Canada, she moved to Jamaica where she worked as a designer in her husband’s architectural firm. She painted architectural renderings, landscapes and portraits in Jamaica, and now as a practicing artist in the Cayman Islands for the past twenty-five years.
Joanne works mainly in watercolour and oil. She has received awards in group shows in Jamaica including a Festival of Art Bronze; the Visual Arts Society of Cayman; has been published in Artist Magazine and recently was a finalist in the International Artist Magazine. She is one of five artists who represented Cayman in the Carib Art Exhibition in Curacao.
Her work can be found in public and private collections both here and abroad.
