Population Scenarios: Past Trends and Future Possibilities
This report is a discussion paper originally prepared for the Hon. Chief Secretary to support planning processes within the portfolios and agencies falling under him. It makes no firm predictions about the future population of the Cayman Islands. Instead, it invites the reader to consider a number of alternative possible scenarios. It is being published on the government website as a catalyst for discussion on an important issue affecting all of us who live in the Cayman Islands.
Data in the report is taken from a number of sources, including the National Archive, the Economics and Statistics Office, and various publications. The report has been reviewed and approved for accuracy by the Economics and Statistics Office, and is intended to complement (rather than replace) the valuable analyses produced by that office.
