DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION, CAYMAN BRAC

Invites applications for the following positions:

Road Technician

(Public Works-District Administration, Cayman Brac)

Salary Grade GCC: $12.95 Ė $14.30 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department is seeking an individual to assist in the construction and maintenance of Government roads. The jobholder will use a variety of machinery and works as part of a team, but on occasionís works on their own initiative. At times the post holder will assist in other general maintenance of Government properties.

The applicant must be capable of performing the following duties along with others listed in JD:

  • Responsible for operating the Tar Distributor
  • Supervises labourers working under him
  • Repairing and replacing of road signs
  • Patching of roads
  • Construction of roads, including the discharging & storing of asphalt, shoveling and binding of asphalt
  • Responsible for the shuttering up during the Annual Hurricane Preparedness Exercise
  • Any other duties as directed by supervisors

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • At least 3 years of experience operating a variety of machinery
  • Valid group 4 driverís license
  • Clean driving record and be a courteous driver/operator
  • Ability to follow instructions is a definite plus
