Cayman Islands Government DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION, CAYMAN BRAC

Invites applications for the following positions:

FOREMAN (PUBLIC WORKS - DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION, CAYMAN BRAC)

Salary Grade GFF: $18.45- $20.38 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department is seeking an individual to assist the roads superintendent in supervising, motivating, training and instructing all subordinates in effective methods of construction and maintenance relating to roads.

The applicant must be capable of performing the following duties along with others listed in JD:

  • To supervise the construction and maintenance of roads
  • To prepare requisition for materials for all jobs, and ensure jobs are planned and run properly
  • To manage the day to day task on the site relating to the job
  • To submit time and organize vacation roasters of subordinates
  • Any other duties as directed by supervisors

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Minimum of five yearsí experience in roads construction and maintenance, plus five yearsí experience as Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Valid driverís license
  • Amply versed in safe use of power tools, plants and manual tools
  • Able to train and lead tradesmen
