Key Responsibilities: To provide leadership to a team and project management, installation, configuration, upgrade, monitoring, tuning, capacity planning and maintenance of Oracle database(s) and application servers, in support of production systems and the development environment. The post-holder is expected to control and manage database configuration including installing and upgrading application servers and application tools, applying fixes, and maintaining supplier and in-house documentation. He/she will also be accountable for managing and taking technical responsibility for the definition, documentation and execution of one or more projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the succession of the project.

Qualifications: The post-holder should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management plus a minimum of seven (7) years’ post-graduate experience in information systems; OR an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ post-graduate experience in information systems; OR more mature entrants with thirteen (13) years of relevant database administration/advanced IT experience and related post high school education, if aptitude for analysis and systems development work is evident. Two (2) years must have been as a software developer and five (5) years as a Senior Database Administrator with experience and responsibility in the following areas in support of Oracle’s E-Business Suite: Installation and configuration, monitoring, backup and recovery, plus space management. Significant experience in high-availability systems, clustering, failover and business continuity is also required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Evidence of management skills, in controlling projects and managing staff, and in the execution of difficult and complex organisational tasks along with the knowledge of principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation is required. The post-holder should be proficient in Project Management tools to assist in the project managing process, by automating manual tasks such as scheduling, resources balancing and time recording as well as Oracle Applications Development Methods, Techniques and Tools.
