Invites applications for the following positions: DISTRICT OFFICER (LITTLE CAYMAN) (DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION, CAYMAN BRAC)


The Department is seeking an individual to manage and support public policy and public service in Little Cayman to facilitate the efficient and effective achievement of the Government broad goals for the island.

The applicant must be capable of performing the following duties along with others listed in JD:

  • Provide policy advice (strategic and operational) to the District Commissioner and Chief Officer on matters affecting Little Cayman
  • Board, enter, process and clear vessels and aircraft arriving and departing Little Cayman in accordance with established legal framework and department policy
  • Conduct regular surveillance of the coastline, including marine patrols where necessary
  • Greet and accompany H. E The Governor, Honorable Premier, Honorable Deputy Governor, Honorable Deputy Premier, District Commissioner and others during official visits to Little Cayman. This includes coordinating the visit whilst on the island
  • Assist with vehicle and driving licensing in accordance with established laws, regulations and procedures
  • Manage and supervise all official emergency operations linked to disaster preparedness, response and recovery in Little Cayman, with oversight from the SIEC


The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • The post holder must possess at a minimum, a Diploma or Associateís Degree in Business or Public Administration with a minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at a supervisory or managerial level


  • At least ten (10) years varied experience in a similar work environment including four (4) years of supervisory/management experience, with proven competencies to satisfy the requirements of the job
  • The post holder must be mature and prepared to execute the duties of this office without compromise and with minimal intervention or supervision from the District Commissioner or other principals
  • Previous experience in law enforcement and/or marine affairs is desirable
  • Post holder must be computer literate and familiar with standard operation software programmes such as word and excel
