AVIATION SAFETY OFFICER
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands is undertaking a phased enhancement of its regulatory personnel resources and is seeking to employ a mature and experienced individual to undergo training in the post of ‘Aviation Safety Officer’ within the Directorate of Air Navigation Services Regulation. The Directorate is responsible to the Director-General of Civil Aviation for ensuring the safety regulatory oversight of all aspects of airports and associated services including, but not limited to airfield operations, air traffic control, aeronautical telecommunications, air navigation services and aerodrome fire services.
The post of ‘Aviation Safety Officer’ is a developmental position leading to the successful candidate becoming a qualified safety inspector within a two to three year period. In order to assist the successful applicant in becoming fully effective in the role, the CAACI intends to invest in the training and mentoring of the individual and expects total commitment and a willingness to attend training at overseas institutions, for which the candidate will be bonded to secure the Authority’s investment.Applications are invited from highly motivated Caymanians, or permanent residents with the right to work, who possess the requisite qualification and experience. Ideally, applicants should have a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in at least one of the above identified fields, supported by an appropriate professional qualification, together with a significant working knowledge of the aviation industry.

Salary & Benefits:
Salary range is CI$ 77,147 to CI$107,858 per annum and will commensurate with experience and qualification. Benefits include a contributory pension plan, health insurance coverage, 25 working days’ vacation and provision for appropriate training.
