The Portfolio of Legal Affairs is currently inviting applications for the following opportunity:

Legislative Editor

Do you have experience of working within a legal environment? Are you highly organised, with a work style that ensures accuracy and attention to detail?

Reporting to the Law Revision Commissioner/Senior Legal Policy Advisor, the Legislative Editor will be responsible for providing support in relation to the:

  • revision of the laws of the Cayman Islands (layout, style, grammar and structure);
  • production of the Annual Consolidated Index of Laws (including the maintenance of an on-line database and web-portal); and
  • policy research and development being undertaken by the Law Revision Commissioner/Senior Legal Policy Advisor.

Essential Skills & Competences

Candidates should be able to successfully demonstrate:

  • a highly methodical style of work, focusing on accuracy and attention to detail;
  • a confidential and professional approach to work, with a strong work ethic;
  • an ability to proof read complex documents (spelling, grammar and punctuation);
  • an ability to deliver work/produce results under pressure;
  • strong communication skills (both oral and written);
  • strong time-management and organizational skills;
  • an ability to learn new systems, procedures and laws quickly; and
