Portfolio of the Civil Service on behalf of the Internal Audit Service

invites applications for the following positions:

Senior Internal Auditor

The post holder will be the Lead Auditor in the planning and execution of a portfolio of audit subject areas and provide consulting and advisory services to agencies across government. They will provide internal auditing activities to evaluate risk management, control and governance processes and provide viable recommendations for improvement.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform financial, operational and compliance audits and special reviews within Government Agencies, Statutory Authorities, and Government Companies
  • Plan and execute all Audit and Review Services assignments in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the relevant audit methodologies
  • Conduct and/or lead a team of auditors in the planning, fieldwork and reporting of audits and reviews.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

The post holder would be expected to have / be...

  • A qualified Internal Audit professional (CIA or International equivalent)
  • A qualified Accountant or a Bachelorís Degree in the field of audit, accountancy, business or finance or relevant field.
  • 3 years relevant auditing experience with demonstrable expertise in at least one, preferably more of the following audit areas:
  • Financial Auditing
  • HR Auditing
  • Operational and Performance Auditing
  • Knowledge of the IIAís International Professional Practices Framework, International Auditing Standards and International Accounting Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly assimilate information and solve problems by collecting and analyzing complex data, understand and apply strategic management principles and frameworks, analyse business risks and determine their impact on operating systems and objectives, and to formulate appropriate recommendations as necessary to improve management systems.
  • The ability to work independently without supervision and to speak, write and present in a clear, accurate and concise manner.
