Her Majesty’s Cayman Islands Prison Service

PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

Her Majesty’s Cayman Islands Prison Service is the sole correctional service in the Cayman Islands whose mission is to secure persons incarcerated by the judicial system safely and provide rehabilitative opportunities for offenders.

This position provides administrative oversight for the offender re-entry programs and requires close coordination, collaboration, monitoring of staff and participants to ensure that programme delivery is relevant to the needs identified on inmates’ case plans. Responsibilities also include working closely with partner agencies to ensure programme participants are engaged and supported in services that includes employment/training, housing, mentoring and other comprehensive services.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in a criminal justice, corrections, social work or related behavioral science field.

Competencies

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Programme Management in corrections or related field.
  • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team with a variety of skills and learning styles.
  • Knowledge of modern theories, principles and practices of rehabilitation in a correctional setting.
  • Awareness of the challenges and issues associated with the correctional field and rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various computer applications including the MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to keep records of time, production, costs as required for compiling reports
