International Cooperation Officer I

The Ministry of Financial Services and Home Affairs is recruiting a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join the Department for International Tax Cooperation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the key practical aspects of all forms of exchange of information for tax purposes, including exchange of information on request and automatic exchange of information, in accordance with the Cayman Islandsí international agreements and domestic legislation.

The Department for International Tax Cooperation is responsible for the effective implementation of the Cayman Islands international obligations in tax matters and for engagement with relevant international initiatives and bodies.

AS INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION OFFICER I, YOU WILL:

  • Undertake the technical review and analysis of all incoming requests received under international agreements.
  • Assist with technical and operational handling of notification and reporting requirements for automatic exchange of information.
  • Assist with practical aspects of all forms of exchange of information from other jurisdictions under international agreements.
  • Collaborate with senior staff in compiling relevant formal notices; collate received information, and the subsequent formal exchange of information with the requesting treaty partners.
  • Assist with reporting of information under automatic exchange mechanisms.
  • Deal with aspects of reporting, compliance monitoring and inquiries resulting from these reporting regimes.

DO YOU HAVE?

  • A Bachelorís degree in Business Administration or other relevant area with a minimum of 3 to 4 years relevant work experience in a technical environment OR Associates Degree (or Diploma) in Business Administration or other relevant area with a minimum of 5 to 7 years relevant work experience in a business or technical environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) international standards on transparency and exchange of information.
  • Knowledge of the Cayman Islands international tax cooperation framework.
  • Experience with understanding legal concepts and documents.
  • Proven ability to handle complex documents and data accurately and in an efficient manner.
  • Sound administrative skills and a high level of proficiency in document production and data organization in IT systems.
  • Proven ability to work in a highly sensitive and confidential environment, while maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
