The Cayman Islands Government invites application for the following position in the:

Department of Commerce and Investment

Head of Business Services and Licensing

The Head of Business Services and Licensing will lead, manage and guide the operations of the Licensing sections (Trade and Business, Special Economic Zone, Liquor Licenses, Tobacco Permits, Cinema) of the Department; to ensure its financial performance, output delivery and staff management meet or exceeds agreed standards. The postholder will assist the Director in continuous development and monitoring of the online platform for all license types.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • The post holder must hold a B.A., or a B.Sc. in a business related discipline;
  • MBA or post graduate degree in a business related discipline is desired;
  • Formal education or training in the areas of project assessment, formulation and analysis, as well as in small business development, is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in a startup environment or in a growing company in a knowledge based sector is highly desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience and solid understanding of superior professional customer service in order to interact with a full range of stakeholders;
  • The post holder must have 5 to 10 years’ experience in middle or higher management positions with strong business orientation such as in finance, marketing, sales and team management;
  • Proven track record of planning and project implementation (on budget and on time).
