Administrative Assistant - Department of Public Safety Communications

The Department of Public Safety and Communications (911) contributes to the safety of the Cayman community through the effective management of the national CCTV Programme, electronic monitoring of offenders and first response to emergency calls.

The agency is seeking administrative support to enable their teams to execute their responsibilities effectively.

You will be expected to:

  • Professional interaction with clients, employees and representatives from partner agencies, departments and ministries
  • Conduct research and develop reports, papers, correspondence in a timely manner
  • Provide full secretarial services by producing memos, letters, emails and other documents as requested
  • Effectively manage all records and documents including storage and disposal
  • Manage calendars, travel schedules and arrangements as required
  • Provide event planning services for meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Attend meetings and workshops as requested and prepare summary notes on the applicable subject matter

Do you have the following:

  • An Associate Degree in Business Administration or similar discipline
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an administrative/executive support role
  • Professionalism with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable with interacting with a diverse clientele
  • Ability to work at the highest standard, reliably and effectively under pressure, meeting stringent deadlines
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent planning, coordination, organization and problem solving skills
  • Accurate and great attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of government systems, structures and protocols
