Nominate a Star!
Nominations for the second annual Governor's Five-Star Award for Customer Excellence (FACE) are officially open. We can again identify civil servants who we believe go the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service.
At today's (Monday, 6 October) official launch of the 2008 FACE programme, HE Governor Stuart Jack said the award programme spotlights an already high level of customer service in Cayman's public sector. He said that it also serves as a motivator for civil servants to keep building upon their successes.
The FACE honour programme, initiated by the Governor and administered by the Portfolio of the Civil Service (POCS), was created as an ongoing movement to encourage, motivate and support all civil servants.
Chief Officer for POCS, Mary Rodrigues explained that training interventions and other initiatives provide civil servants with opportunities to improve their standard of public service delivery.
"We spent several months developing hands-on customer service training for public sector employees," she said. "The content breaks away from traditional classroom sessions, and instead aims to empower by providing participants with the necessary skills and techniques to gauge their impact on customers, and to mould their service delivery accordingly."
The FACE nomination period ends on Saturday, 15 November and all nominees will again be honoured at a Government House reception.
