Spotlight Shines on Five Star Award
This week GIS Spotlight finds out what it takes to be Cayman's next FACE winner. We then take a drive down the east-west arterial, and for Older Persons Month we ask senior citizen Mrs Janilee Clifford how she manages her active community life.
Nominations for the second annual Governor's Five Star Award for Customer Excellence (FACE) are open. Hear how you can recognize those civil servants that went the extra mile to serve you.
GIS Spotlight interviews Chief Officer of the Portfolio of the Civil Service Mary Rodrigues on new training initiatives that are geared to raise productivity and encourage higher standards of service in the public sector.
Next, we travel down the east west arterial to take a look at the latest extension. This new phase will take the highway from Hirst Road in Savannah Newlands to Lookout Road in Bodden Town. Hear why residents from the eastern districts can now say bye, bye traffic; hello development.
Finally, as part of the Department of Community Development's celebration of Older Persons Month, we pay tribute to our senior citizens with the first of a series of programs featuring members of this community.
This week we visit Mrs. Janilee Clifford and find out how she exemplifies the United Nations' principles for older persons, namely independence; participation; care; self-fulfilment, and dignity.
Mrs Clifford tells us about her life's work and the joy she finds in staying active in her community. She also shares her views on how young people can drive their personal development.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
