Distinguished guests

Good evening,

I am pleased to be here to celebrate this special occasion, which marks a milestone in your careers. I would like to thank the Chartered Financial Analysts Society for inviting me to share in this opportunity and to congratulate each and every one of you.

I know how far-reaching and globally significant the CFA designation is. Tonight, as we honour the charter recipients and those who have passed their final exams, I would like to thank you for the level of professionalism and the commitment you have made in making the Cayman Islands financial services sector the success it is today.

Through these trying times, the Government looks to dedicated individuals such as yourselves to persevere and maintain the high standards of our industry. As such, we maintain a high regard for the work of the CFA Society here in Cayman and believe that its work and efforts strongly support our collective efforts to enhance the professional excellence of our jurisdiction.

We remain constantly impressed with the high standards and core values of the CFA Institute, and are proud that the Cayman Islands chapter exemplifies the professional excellence and integrity that upholds our financial services industry.

We acknowledge the importance of the CFA Society of the Cayman Islands in making a commitment to the community and supporting the values and pillars of our jurisdiction.

Finally, to the new charter-holders: congratulations. With the CFA designation, you now possess the "gold standard among investment analysis designations". Being a charter holder allows you the added benefits of credibility, competitive advantage, networking opportunities and recognition.

To those who have passed the level 3 exam, congratulations - you are well on your way to achieving your CFA and I look forward to seeing you at future award ceremonies. On behalf of the Cayman Islands Government, I wish you continued success.

To the members of the CFA Society, your contributions to our financial services industry are greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a pleasant evening.
