Photovoltaic Training: Register Now!
Local engineers and architects, as well as electrical, building and plumbing contractors, are encouraged to attend a special workshop on the topic, "Code-Compliant Design and Installation of Photovoltaic (PV) Systems."
Friday November 28th is the registration deadline for this two-day workshop. It will take place December 3-4 at the Marriott Resort, from 8:30a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The registration fee is $400.
The course is intended for professionals having a strong PV-installation or electrical-contracting background. Participants will be provided with the necessary information to design, build and install code-compliant PV systems. They are, however, reminded to have with them the 2005 National Electrical Code, as well as a pen and highlighter.
This is not an introductory course; attendees are expected to understand PV fundamentals, electrical systems, and to have previously attended basic PV training.
Others for whom this training is relevant include engineers, NABCEP-certified installers, solar contractors, plan examiners, inspectors, and anyone hoping to take the NABCEP PV installer exam.
Certificates will be presented upon completion of the two-day workshop; to receive them, participants must have attended both days. The course also provides 14 continuing education units towards re-certification to those holding current NABCEP documentation.
Registration forms and detailed course outlines are available through the Planning Department, or online at www.planning.gov.ky. For more information, contact the department on 769-7526.
