Gas Code and Safety Course
Plumbing contractors, building inspectors, liquid propane gas installers, architects, engineers, designers and maintenance personnel are all urged to attend a fuel gas code and safety workshop hosted by the Planning Department's Building Control Unit (BCU).
Scheduled for 25-26 March, between 8:00am and 4:00pm at the Marriott Beach Resort, the course will help participants understand concepts necessary to design code-compliant liquid propane gas systems for buildings.
The CI$275 registration fee, which must be paid at the BCU office by Friday 20 March, includes refreshments and lunch.
Topics such as regulator sizing and placement, system testing, leak detection, and appliance installation and requirements will be covered by a United Services Training Corporation facilitator. Copies of the NFPA 58 LP-Gas Code Book (2008 edition) and the ICC International Fuel Gas Code (2006 edition) will be given to the first 25 registrants.
