GIS Spotlight on New Financing for Entrepreneurs
This week GIS Spotlight features two local businesses that, with the help of the Cayman Angel Investment Network (CAIN), are really taking off.
We also drive along Dorcy Drive to explore the benefits of the newly improved roadway; we test your local history knowledge with Cayman Quiz, and tell you how you can honour the women in your life this month.
Local entrepreneurs who are looking for that "something extra" to take their business to the next level, have found the support they need in CAIN. Administered by the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau (CIIB), the network is an alternative financing source that opens up new avenues and business connections for fledgling companies.
Learn more about it as GIS Spotlight talks to CIIB's Dax Basdeo about this innovative approach, and visit some entrepreneurs who are benefiting from the programme.
Next we cruise down the renovated Dorcy Drive to hear feedback what the road's upgrade has done to improve commerce in the area.
We also talk to the National Roads Authority about promoting traffic flow, better drainage and improvements still to come.
Then it's time to open the history books with Cayman Quiz. This week we go to West Bay to visit the home of a legendary nurse, said to have delivered more than a thousand babies.
Finally, we give you a quick rundown of the 11th Annual Honouring Women Month. For more information on the festivities log on to www.wrc.gov.ky.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme airs on Mondays at 6:30 pm on Cayman27, and again on Thursdays at 7:30 pm on Island24. All the stories seen in this week's edition can also be found on YouTube at the following link: www.youtube.com/user/CIGovtInfoServices.
