Delayed Mail Arrives

Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow

The Cayman Islands Postal Services advises that three bags of mail, which had been delayed since last year, were received on Friday, 3 April.

The US Postal Service in New York had routed the three small dispatches of mail to Cayman on 4 August; 30 November; and 6 December.

"The reason for the delay has yet to be determined," Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow explained. "But there seems to have been some mix-up between the airlines involved in transferring the mail, and it was left in a warehouse in Jamaica."

Ms Glasgow emphasised that the Jamaica Postal Corporation is not responsible for the delay. The three dispatches of mail should already be awaiting collection in Cayman post boxes.

"We regret any inconvenience this delay has caused," Ms Glasgow said, "and we are dealing with the matter with the appropriate agencies."
