Press Sees Election Format

Transparency was the key as via the media, the Elections Office offered the public insight into the voting process to be used by Cayman's 15,361 electors for the 20 May General Elections and first National Referendum.

During the Elections Office tour on Wednesday 15 April, Supervisor of Elections Kearney Gomez and Deputy Supervisors Orrett Connor and Colford Scott, assisted by other staff members, presented the 20 May format.

This included the vote casting process which will be in two separate areas (the first for district representatives, the other for the referendum). The Elections officers also outlined security measures and required practices and procedures, and they detailed the participants, including police officers, candidates and agents, presiding officers, polling clerks, returning officers and observers.

For more Elections information, contact the Elections Office on weekdays in person at The Professional Centre on Smith Road, George Town between 8:30am and 5 pm, or call 949-8047. The public may also e-mail the office at, or visit its website.
