GIS Spotlight on Coe Wood Beach

The Ministry of Tourism has broken ground on the Coe Wood Beach project in Bodden Town.

This week GIS Spotlight goes east to explore the Coe Wood Beach redevelopment. Then we look at how the PRIDE programme elevates Cayman's tourism product, before taking a seat at this year's Cayman Islands Tourism Exchange to hear why our islands are top destinations.

The Ministry of Tourism has broken ground on the Coe Wood Beach project in Bodden Town. GIS Spotlight caught the action, and spoke to Tourism Minister Charles Clifford, local business owners, residents, and the contractor regarding how this development will attract tourists to the eastern districts.

The PRIDE Programme is now in its second year. Join us as we revisit to find out how the Department of Tourism's customer service training plan is changing the industry. We also explore how it will help Cayman to beat the competition, especially in a tough economic environment.

The annual Cayman Islands Tourism Exchange is designed to sell our tourism products and it attracts travel agents and wholesalers from around the world.

GIS Spotlight went to this year's event and met some of the international representatives. Hear why they think Cayman will remain a winner in the tourism market. We also spoke to Cayman Islands Tourism Association Executive Director Trina Christian on why this is an important event for everyone.

Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.

The weekly programme airs on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm on Cayman27, and again on Thursdays at 7:30 pm on Island24. All the stories seen in this week's edition can also be found on YouTube at the following link:
