On the heels of yesterday's (20 May) hotly contested election, United Democratic Party (UDP) leader, and soon to be Leader of Government Business, the Hon. McKeeva Bush OBE, JP, has tentatively named his cabinet.
These appointments are subject to the Governor's final approval.
Mr Bush, who will assume responsibility for tourism and finance, has appointed Rolston Anglin deputy leader with responsibility for education, training and labour. Cayman Brac and Little Cayman representative Juliana O'Connor-Connolly will head up district administration and works, and George Town representative Mike Adam will take housing and social policy.
Though matters surrounding the legitimacy of Mark Scotland's candidacy have yet to be determined, Mr Bush has appointed him responsibilities for health and sports.
Justice of the Peace and long time politician Mary Lawrence has been appointed speaker of the house, while West Bay MLA Cline Glidden Jr. will function as her deputy.
Backbenchers Ezzard Miller and Ellio Solomon will chair committees for the Health Services Authority and housing respectively.
