New Look for Brac Daycare

Ms O'Connor-Connolly gets up close and personal with a young admirer.

It was kiddie-connection time for recently-elected District Administration Minister, the Hon. Juliana O'Connor-Connolly, JP, last Friday (12 June).

The minister, who had spent much of her day meeting with Sister Islands civil servants, stopped by the Cayman Brac Daycare Centre to see how some of her smallest Constituents were getting along.

Having previously requested upgrades to the centre's playground, the minister also checked on progress. She was pleased to see that additional fill had been delivered to the site and was used to level off the playground area. In addition, the minister thanked the Brac Agriculture Department and Ms Lyn Walton for their contributions towards three grow boxes, which she had also requested for the daycare.

"It's never too soon to teach our children about growing what they eat, and eating what they grow," Ms O'Connor-Connolly commented. "The boxes will allow the children to get an early start in agriculture."

A government-owned and operated daycare facility, it caters to the needs of some three dozen youngsters and was the brainchild of District Commissioner Ernie Scott, and the minister.

The minister expressed her appreciation to Mrs Jones and her dedicated staff for the excellent care they provide for the children there.
