Spotlight Goes Green and Skateboarding

Minister of Sports Mark Scotland gets some tips from Shaun White.

This week on GIS Spotlight learn how to cultivate a green office, then grind with Shaun White on his recent visit to Cayman, before getting serious with the Protocol Office.

You can care for the environment every workday, says the Department of Environment. And DOE is leading by example. Tune in to see how a few good practices are significantly reducing its office footprint.

For more on how your business can save the planet through thinking differently about energy and water use, solid waste disposal and transport, visit www.doe.ky/reducing-office-footprint-1/.

Next GIS Spotlight busts out the skateboards and meets world-renowned skateboarder Shaun White at the Black Pearl Skate Park where he taught local kids and government officials the tricks of the trade.

The show also tells you more about the Department of Tourism's Skate Cayman, the summer camp programme that sponsored the famous skateboarder's visit to our shores.

Finally, a visit to the Protocol Office shows the serious side of official behaviour. Find out what it's like to work with visiting delegates and diplomats, and arrange national events.

Also, get the definitive answer on how to fly the flag, and which to sing first: the national anthem or the national song.

Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.

The weekly programme airs on Mondays at 6:30 pm on Cayman27, and again on Thursdays at 7:30 pm on Island24. All the stories seen in this week's edition can also be found on YouTube at the following link: www.youtube.com/user/CIGovtInfoServices.
