Spotlighting Mosquito Wars
This week GIS Spotlight goes hunting with the Mosquito Research and Control Unit (MRCU), then we explore this year's Right to Know celebrations, and finally we take a look at a stamp issue that commemorates equality and democracy in our Islands.
Rainy season has started, and with it comes the mosquito. Join us as we follow MRCU's dedicated bug fighters to see how they are redoubling their efforts - in the air and on the ground.
Also, hear where these little pests like to breed and what all of us can do to help reduce mosquito numbers.
Stay with us as we knock on the Information Commissioner's door to find out more about this year's Right to Know Week.
Previously known as Sunshine Week, this celebration aims to educate people about Cayman's freedom of information legislation, why it is important, and how to find out what your government is doing.
Finally we showcase the Postal Service's latest commemorative stamp issue, Cayman Islands Equality through Democracy. Get a closer look at these stamps created in honour of the 50th anniversary of two powerful historic occasions: The adoption of Cayman's first written Constitution and women's suffrage.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme airs on Mondays at 6:30 pm on Cayman27, and again on Thursdays at 7:30 pm on Island24. All the stories seen in this week's edition can also be found on YouTube.
