Remembrance Day Plans

For remembrance

A parade by uniformed detachments and the traditional offering of wreaths will form part of the annual Remembrance Day homage to fallen war veterans this Sunday.

The ceremony takes place from 10.45 am on Harbour Drive in front of the Cenotaph that is located in Elmslie Memorial Church grounds. Members of the public should be in place by 10.30 a.m. Limited seating is available.

His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Stuart Jack, CVO; the Hon. Juliana O'Connor-Connolly, JP as Deputy Premier; Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Kurt Tibbetts, and Cayman Islands Veterans Association President Capt. Dale Banks will all participate, as will other officials and veterans.

The event will also include two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. and the sounding of the Last Post in remembrance of all who have sacrificed their lives in wars.

Parade participants will be detachments from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, veterans, Girls Brigade, Scouts, Cadet Corps and Lions Clubs.
