Disrupted Garbage Collection
Department of Environmental Health (DEH) officials are advising the public that residential garbage collection is behind schedule due to operational and resource issues.
These have meant once-weekly only residential collection for the majority of Grand Cayman. The department is working to resolve these issues and it is expected that collection will return to normal by the end of the year or before.
Meanwhile, residents are asked to secure their garbage in lidded bins to deter animals. Collection will take place on either of the two regularly scheduled days in all districts.
Staff members apologize for any inconvenience and request the public's patience and understanding at this time.
Residents are also reminded to place all bulk items by the roadside for pick-up immediately as the current cleanup being conducted by Cayman Pride & DEH will end Friday (4 December).
