On Monday, 11 January National Housing Development Trust (NHDT) Chairman Steve McLaughlin presented plaques to three major sponsors of the company's annual end of year community outreach to children.
He presented awards to representatives of Maples and Calder and McAlpine who each contributed CI$1,000 and to PricewaterhouseCoopers who gave CI$2,200.
Others attending were General Manager Maxine Gibson and NHDT Special Project Coordinator Odette Campbell.
The donated funds were used to purchase gifts and to stage a Christmas party for children from the NHDT Windsor Park, West Bay and Eastern Avenue housing developments.
Mr. McLaughlin extended his appreciation to "all those persons and businesses that so graciously made a contribution to this event."
"I thank the businesses for their generosity displayed a community effort that has made the children's Christmas more enjoyable which also made a real difference to families in the NHDT communities," he said.
Responding on behalf of Maples and Calder, Senior Marketing Manager Cherryl Hydes said the Maples Foundation's goal is to assist the youth of Cayman to achieve their full potential.
"We were happy to play our part in easing the burden on parents and make the kids happy during the holidays," she said.
