Over a hundred primary school children learned just how much their contribution to a national event meant when they received a special visit today (Monday, 8 February).

The students had helped welcome His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE, wife Marie-Beatrice and son Max to Cayman last month.

On Monday, the youngsters received certificates of appreciation from the Premier, Hon. McKeeva Bush, OBE, JP. Each participating school received a plaque of appreciation as well.

Mr. Bush spent the morning and afternoon travelling from George Town to the eastern districts to thank, in person, 12 pupils of Red Bay, 55 of Savannah, 65 of Bodden Town, one of North Side and two of East End primary schools. Most had participated in the welcome reception at Pedro St. James on 15 January.GIS File Photo: Jenique Rivers of North Side Primary School presented flowers to welcome Mrs. Marie-Beatrice Taylor at the Pedro Castle reception for the Governor on 15 January 2010. Yesterday (Monday 8 February), the Premier Hon. McKeeva Bush travelled to North Side to thank her and the school.

However, the Premier's first stop was the Truman Bodden Sports Complex since Red Bay Primary was celebrating sports day there.
