CARIFTA in Cayman

CARIFTA 2010 is around the corner.

Next week on GIS Spotlight get ready for CARIFTA 2010, gauge the need for business statistics, and meet Cayman's latest junior reporters.

CARIFTA is the Caribbean's premier junior track and field event, and this year Cayman's team will compete in front of a home crowd.

Join us as we talk to our athletes and their coaches on what it takes to prepare for the games. Also, hear why you should come out and support your country this Easter (3-5 April).

Next, we find out why the Economics and Statistics Office's annual Economic Survey for the System of National Accounts (SNA) and Balance of Payments (BOP) are so important for local businesses as well as overseas investors.

For instance, did you know that credit rating agencies use SNA and BOP data when assessing countries?

Finally, come meet GIS professionals as they share advice with students at the Chamber of Commerce's recent career expo. Also, don't miss seeing our pick of the best junior reporters!

Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.

The weekly programme airs on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. on Cayman27, and again on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. on Island24.

Please note that tonight's show (25 March) will air at 6:30 p.m. on Cayman 27 due to College Basketball. Due to CARIFTA coverage, the 5 April show will shift to Tuesday, 6 April at 6:30 p.m. on Cayman27.
