New Auditor General Starts Work

Cayman Islands new Auditor General, Mr. Alastair Swarbrick

Mr. Alastair Swarbrick the new Auditor General of the Cayman Islands will take up his position on the 12th July 2010.

Mr. Swarbrick was former Assistant Director of Audit at Audit Scotland and will be accompanied by his wife and young son.

Mr. Swarbrick will spend his first week on a familiarization programme which will include meeting with H.E. The Governor Duncan Taylor, the Hon. Premier McKeeva Bush, the Hon. Deputy Governor Donovan Ebanks, the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Mr Ezzard Miller and the Hon Financial Secretary Mr Kenneth Jefferson.

Mr. Swarbrick will also call on senior officials in the Ministry of Finance and will meet his audit colleagues in Internal Audit and Human Resources Audit.

He will spend time with the Portfolio of the Civil Service who will brief him on the personnel and financial reforms and the relevant laws and regulations.
