Department of Immigration officers posted signs in public places Wednesday to announce July's immigration amnesty.

A one-month prosecution-free amnesty period becomes effective Thursday, 1 July and will continue through Sunday, 1 August.

During this period persons presently in the Cayman Islands illegally may depart the country without fear of prosecution.
