Spotlighting Mosquito Wars
Next week (19-23 July) GIS Spotlight goes hunting with the Mosquito Research and Control Unit (MRCU) and explores the National Archive's value.
Rainy season has started, and with it comes the mosquito. Join us as we follow MRCU's dedicated bug fighters to see how they are redoubling their efforts - in the air and on the ground.
Also, hear where these little pests like to breed and what all of us can do to help reduce mosquito numbers.
As one of the keepers of Cayman's history, the Cayman Islands National Archive is filled with books, newspapers, magazines, video recordings, diaries, photos, and a host of other documents that recreate the past.
Join us as we travel backward in time, courtesy of our visit to the Archive. Discover why record keeping is important and how you can track branches of your family tree.
Finally, we give you a brief look at this summer's sport camps hosted by the Ministry and Department of Sports. For more information go to www.departmentofsports.com.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme airs on Mondays at 6:30 pm on Cayman27, and again on Thursdays at 7:30 pm on Island24. All the stories seen in this week's edition can also be found on YouTube at the following link: www.youtube.com/user/CIGovtInfoServices.
