Learning While Playing

Vintage cars, artistic expressions, and high-energy sporting games were among the activities that occupied Sunrise Adult Training Centre (SRC) clients throughout the past four weeks.

These have all been part of their Summer Recreation Programme, sponsored by several local organisations.

"We're so grateful to these companies and individuals that have continuously committed to assisting with the programme," SRC Director Roberta Gordon said.

"The aim is both educational and recreational. Each year our clients learn something new about the Cayman Islands."

Among the activities were a Trolley Roger excursion of George Town; a National Museum tour; and a visit to the Cayman Motor Museum in West Bay. Clients also participated in heritage, art and craft, and drama activities at the Sunrise Centre.

One highlight of the programme was the luncheon, hosted by His Excellency the Governor at Government House, while another was the Rotary Sunrise-sponsored closing dinner and dance at Tiki Beach.

Other sponsors were AON Insurance; Caribbean Utilities Company; Cayman National; Cayman Islands Special Olympics Association; Cracked Conch; Gino's Pizza; KFC; Paddle Inn; Pizza Hut; and Mrs. Mary Trumbach.
