Spellers Ready to Rumble
On Tuesday, 2 November, the 2010 National Spelling Bee kicks off with the first leg of preliminary rounds for primary schools in Grand Cayman.
Participants in that round will gather at the Savannah Primary School at 6:30 p.m. for the beginning of the big spell-off.
The following day (Wednesday, 3 November), round two starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Prospect Primary School hall. Round three is scheduled for the same time on Thursday (4 November) at the Sir John A. Cumber Primary School in West Bay.
Cayman Brac primary-level students will close the primary school round at the Aston Rutty Civic Centre on Friday, 5 November, at 1:30 p.m.
Secondary school spellers will then get their opportunity to shine on 10th and 11th November. Their preliminary rounds are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on both days at the Mary Miller Hall in Red Bay.
The grand finales for primary and secondary school finalists respectively are scheduled for 1st and 2nd December, in the Mary Miller Hall at 6:30 p.m.
