Leaner Civil Service
This week (Monday, 3 January) GIS Spotlight analyses the civil service review, previews a new National Gallery exhibition and meets Cayman's Caymannite lady.
Following a successful first phase, the UK-mandated civil service review is accelerating. We talk to Deputy Governor Donovan Ebanks on the long-term benefits of a leaner civil service. Also hear from a civil servant how the review team training will stand her in good stead as government continues to assess the public sector.
Our next stop is the National Gallery where we explore local artist Davin Ebanks' latest exhibition - Blue Meridian. Don't miss this look at art imitating life where works of glass and porcelain artfully mirror Davin's Caymanian home.
Then meet Caymannite producer Launa Green at the Cayman Craft Market. See how she practices her craft, learnt over 20 years ago from Dr. Jackman. We show you some of her amazing creations while she talks about her loyal customers from Europe, North America and other places who make return trips to purchase her unique items.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme now airs on Cayman27 at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. All the stories seen in this week's show can also be found on the GIS Marketing and Communications website: www.gis.kywww.gis.ky.
