The National Housing Development Trust (NHDT) on Wednesday (26 January) recognized seven companies which supported its community outreach efforts last Christmas.

That support assisted an NHDT treat for some 100 children from its housing developments in West Bay, Windsor Park and Eastern Avenue. Contributing companies included LIME; Cayman Airways; Industrial Services Ltd; McAlpine Ltd; Maples; Butterfield, and Dart Enterprises. Some companies donated cash as well as prizes.

Thanking the businesses for their participation and partnership, NHDT Chairman Edward McLaughlin said, "Our goal at NHDT extends beyond merely building physical structures; it's also about helping to build the social fabric of our communities and I am pleased that our corporate partners continue to join us in this effort."

Interim General Manager Janet James explained that NHDT stages an annual Christmas treat to help encourage and uplift children from its housing communities. It likewise conducts ongoing social development activities such as afterschool programmes.

LIME Marketing Manager Julie Hutton noted that her company donated cash and prizes to the NDHT's programme as part of its Christmas Pon the Remix campaign.

"We are always looking to support programmes that positively impact the lives of the country's kids," she said.

Speaking on behalf of McAlpine, representative Ian Paraudeau said that his organisation was also always pleased to be able to assist children as part of its effort to help in community building.
