Deputy Premier off to Spain
Deputy Premier and Minister of District Administration, Works, Lands and Agriculture the Hon. Juliana O'Connor-Connolly, JP and a team leave the Cayman Islands tomorrow (Friday, 11 February) for the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
GSMA is the Global System for Mobile Communications Association.
The Deputy Premier, who is attending in her capacity as Minister responsible for Information and Communications Technology, will be accompanied by Deputy Speaker and Councillor in the Ministry Cline Glidden; Chief Officer Kearney Gomez, MBE, JP, Managing Director of the Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICTA) David Archbold and Executive Aid, Mr. Paul Leonce.
The conference, an annual telecommunications industry event, brings together mobile telecommunications providers, regulators and policy-makers. Last year representatives from over 86 countries attended the Congress.
Minister of Community Affairs, Gender and Housing the Hon. Mike Adam, MBE will act in the Deputy Premier's absence.
The Deputy Premier returns to the Islands on Thursday, 17 February.
