Bridges to Success
This week (Monday, 18 April) GIS Spotlight celebrates with the third group of Passport2Success graduates, reviews new services at the Immigration Department, and visits the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC).
Twenty-one young adults are ready to take on the challenges of the corporate world after completing the third twelve-week Passport2Success programme.
Hear from the participants how they believe the programme changed them and why they think it was time well spent.
Then, we stop in at the Immigration Department, where Chief Immigration Officer Linda Evans tells us about new and improved services.
Increased use of technology, faster transactions and a commitment to service efficiencies have been the order of the day. See how additional service counters, a self-serve "Q-matic" numbering system, and special lines for corporate customers have improved the customer experience.
Our final stop is CIFEC, where Year 12 students get a second chance at success. In the first of this nine-part series Education Minister, the Hon. Rolston Anglin, JP, shares his vision for the programme and his hopes for its expansion in the near future.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme now airs on Cayman27 at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. All stories seen in this week's show can also be found on the GIS Marketing and Communications website: www.gis.ky.
