GIS Spotlight Salutes Conservation
This week (Monday, 16 May) GIS Spotlight repeats its homage to Cayman's marine parks, explains a new road safety strategy and looks at how students creatively bridge the gap between school and work.
This year the Islands' marine parks celebrate their 25th anniversary. Join us as we look back at what it took to ensure the protection of Cayman's seas for future generations.
Next, we hear how a new, multi-agency national road safety strategy aims to reduce road collisions, injuries and deaths on local roads. We talk to strategy partners about the need for such an approach and ask them to explain their roles. Plus there are several tips on how we can all make our roads safer.
Our last stop is the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre. There we learn how students get a taste of the real world through courses such as Creative Media. Hear the youngsters explain why they signed up and how they are already benefitting.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme now airs on Cayman27 at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. All stories seen in this week's show can also be found on the GIS Marketing and Communications website: www.gis.ky.
