The Art of Memory
This week (Monday, 13 June) GIS Spotlight visits the latest National Gallery exhibition, promotes hurricane preparedness, and offers more on the Streetskill road safety campaign.
Join us for a trip down memory lane with the National Gallery's Persistence of Memory exhibition. See how local artists bring their childhood reminiscences to life through the use of archival materials, multi-media and the fine arts.
Next up is a focus on hurricane season. What should you do? What should you buy? When should you prepare? Tune in for the answers to all these questions. Let us help you with our list of 'must do's,' including tips on a family emergency plan, hurricane shopping and more.
Then we hear Streetskill committee members explain why road safety is everyone's responsibility. They focus specifically on the dangers of driving while texting or talking on cell phones. In their turn, police officers will also be keeping an eye out for safety offenders.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme now airs on Cayman27 at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. All stories seen in this week's show can also be found on the GIS Marketing and Communications website: www.gis.ky.
Comments and suggestions about the programme are always welcome. Viewers can provide feedback by e-mailing GIS Spotlight.
