CNCF Camp: In Mama's Yard!
The 2011 Summer Arts Camp of the Cayman National Cultural Foundation
Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) will be holding its annual two-week summer arts camp for children from 8-19 August 2011.
In Mama's Yard! is this year's theme, and children 7-16 will explore a variety of artistic and cultural activities, including Caymanian traditions.
Performing arts, including Cayman quadrille & storytelling, steel pan with Michael Lemay of Pandemonium Steel Pan Jamm, traditional art & crafts such as calavan construction and thatch plaiting, guest artists such as Swanky, and sailing Cayman's waters with members of the Cayman Catboat Club will keep the participants engaged for the ten day period. On the final day, August 19, campers will get an opportunity to showcase all that they have done at camp. Their art & crafts will also be on display.
Camp will be held Mon-Fri, 9am-1:30pm at the F.J. Harquail Cultural Centre and the cost is CI$150 for two weeks. Snacks are included.
