Fresh Air is Good Air

The Fresh Air Fund has been providing great summers since 1877 for New York's inner-city kids. In the process they have changed the lives of some 1.7 million children.

This week (Monday, 1 August) GIS Spotlight takes a splash with the Fresh Air Kids, visits the Trade and Business Licensing Board and explains a new road safety strategy.

The Fresh Air Fund has been providing great summers since 1877 for New York's inner-city kids. In the process they have changed the lives of some 1.7 million children.

Hear what made this year's trip to the Cayman Islands unforgettable for the ten kids and five participating families. Also, learn why making the decision to come to Cayman was an easy choice for the Fresh Air Fund.

Next we visit the Trade and Business Licensing Board, now part of the Department of Commerce and Investment (DCI).

Listen, as clients and staff explain how processes have been streamlined and made more efficient. Also find out how trade and business licences are granted and renewed.

Our final stop is the National Road Safety Council. Discover how their new multi-agency national road safety strategy aims to reduce collisions, injuries and deaths on Cayman's roads.

We talk to strategy partners about the need for such an approach and ask them to explain their roles. Plus there are several tips on how we can all make our roads safer.

Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.

The weekly programme now airs on Cayman27 at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. All stories seen in this week's show can also be found on the GIS Marketing and Communications website: www.gis.ky.
