Keeping Roads Safe for Kids
This week (Monday, 05 September) GIS Spotlight zeroes in on road safety, reviews marine parks and introduces a new artist.
Schools have started, traffic has swelled and the morning commute is hectic again. We make a pit-stop to see what the Streetskill programme is doing to sensitise drivers, particularly teen and young drivers, to keep roads safe for all school kids.
Listen as traffic specialists highlight prime concerns for young drivers and hear how parents should get involved to promote road safety and limit speeding.
Next, we coast to the marine parks to join the UK-funded Darwin initiative in taking another look at the health of Cayman's current marine environment. Learn what's being examined to ensure what is truly a world resource will remain vibrant for generations to come.
Finally, meet a bright young artist who is currently at residence at the National Gallery. See her put her special talents to work and hear what captures her imagination. Hear how you can interact with her and perhaps inspire her work.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government's services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme now airs on Cayman27 at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. However, please note this week, to accommodate another programme on Monday, Cayman27 will air GIS Spotlight on Tuesday (6 September) at 7.30 p.m.
