28 Cubans on Brac
A Cuban vessel arrived in Cayman Brac with 27 males and 1 female on board, during the late afternoon hours of Wednesday, 18 April 2012.
While in the territorial waters of the Cayman Islands the craft developed problems with its rudder, and was said to be running low on fuel.
Immigration Officers from Grand Cayman are presently in Cayman Brac, assisting with processing and other reception formalities. All persons will remain in Government housing on Cayman Brac, until they can be escorted to Grand Cayman.
Government has also notified all relevant and authorized persons who will be assisting with the care and security of the migrants.
