New OT Medals

The Governor is delighted to announce that following Her Majesty the Queen's assent to the change, the below listed Honours will be renamed as 'Overseas Territories' medals with effect from 15 June 2012:

  • The Colonial Police Medal (which is used by the Territories' respective Police and Fire Services for Gallantry and for Meritorious Service);
  • The Colonial Police Long Service Medal;
  • The Colonial Fire Brigades Long Service Medal;
  • The Colonial Prison Service Medal;
  • The Colonial Special Constabulary Medal.

This change has today been formally announced in the London Gazette http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/60172/pages/11415v and the first award of OTMs will be announced this weekend as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours 2012.
