Cubans Repatriated

Immigration officials have repatriated 25 Cuban migrants, who had landed in the Cayman Islands in early November 2012.

On Thursday, January 10, 2013, officials escorted the migrants back to Cuba on Cayman Airways. The group included the two men who had escaped from the Immigration Detention Centre late last week.

Only five migrants, who arrived in the Cayman Islands at the end of December 2012, remain at the detention centre. They await the outcome of their processing by the Immigration Department.
