Helping Children Thrive
GIS Spotlight this week highlights action that is underway to empower students, takes another look at how IT is supporting education in schools and then revisits the Mind's Eye exhibit.
First, we train our sights on a new programme that involves the Education Department and the Family Resource Centre (FRC) joining forces to help kids deal with bullying in schools. Learn how trainers are working to provide students with a larger variety of tools that will help them stand up to negative behaviour by other children in a classroom setting.
After that, we re-enter schools to showcase once again the technology that is shaping the teaching environment. Join us to see how smartboards and other forms of interactive learning help to add an element of fun to lessons.
Finally, we take another look at iconic painter Miss Lassie's house, which is now known as the Mind's Eye exhibit.
